Kingdom Tower Height Is One Mile In The Sky And Makes The World’s Largest Building Look Surprisingly Short

While we don’t normally cover the remarkable feats that are achieved in the architectural world everyday, but we had to cover this. The Saudis have taken it yet again upon themselves to build the world’s largest building, after building the current world’s largest building mere months ago. We don’t know why Saudis are obsessed with having the longest of everything, but the Kingdom Tower as it is called, will extend a staggering one mile, 1,600 m; 5,280 ft, in the sky and making the Burj Khalifa look real small.

Hold your breath as you’re about to find out what this architectural gem is going to cost the Saudi government. $30 billion is the projected cost of the Kingdom Tower. Around the Kingdom Tower, a new city with a capacity of 80,000 people will be constructed which will approximately cover a total area of 23 million square metres.

Prince Al Waleed Bin Talal, head of Kingdom Holding Company has given his approval for the Kingdom Tower, which is no doubt going to be the tallest man made structure in the world. One mile, as previously mentioned, is a phenomenal height for a tower.

Located in Jeddah, the Kingdom Tower will have multiple stories of office space, a number of stories for a hotel while four tiers of residential space are also going to be present. The top most tier is going to be reserved for “alternative energy generation” solutions.

It is needless to say that the view from Kingdom Tower’s top is going to be mostly the desert that surrounds the city. However, for that view filled with sand, your elevator will take up to 12 minutes to ascend. If you ever thought how hard would it be to clean the windows of Burj Khalifah, think again.

A couple of videos to show what the Kingdom Tower is really going to be:

There is no way that the Kingdom Tower can not be amazing. Remember, the services at Kingdom Tower will come at a very handsome price. So if you’re a millionaire on the brink of becoming a billionaire, congratulations as work on your new summer house location is starting soon.
