2011 New Macbook Air Release Slated For The Summer

Apple may release a new line of Macbook Air as early as this summer. The new Macbook Air models will have the next generation Intel Sandy Bridge processors and the super-fast Thunderbolt I/O port, it has been learnt.

The current Macbook Air lineup was announced just seven months ago, in October 2010. The Macbook Air was said to be the thinnest notebook on the planet, the title of which was later clinched by the Samsung Series 9 ultra-slim notebook.

Reports indicate that Apple’s part suppliers will start shipping parts for the new 2011 Macbook Air models by the end of May and a we shall see new Macbook Air release as early as June or July, 2011.

Why a Sandy Bridge Macbook Air? Well Apple has already released new 2011 Macbook Pro models and 2011 iMacs with Sandy Bridge next generation Core processors and the new Thunderbolt I/O connectivity port. So its only logical for Apple to update its Macbook Air offering to the latest and greatest hardware.

If you’re looking to buy a Macbook Air, our advice will be hold off for now. We’d also suggest not to buy a Mac Mini at this time, as those are also likely to get updated to Sandy Bridge processors sometime later this year.
