Here we go again guys! Tag your calendars and setup the reminders for the next big Apple event. According to a recent report by MacRumors, a Japanese website Kodawarisan claims that annual Apple media event 2011 will be held on September 7th according to the US time (or September 8th as per Japanese local time). The traditional Apple fall event is being held every year for the last 3 years in September which brings announcements for the next generation iPod models including iPod touch, iPod shuffle and iPod nano. However, this year, the event is expected to be a lot bigger than that with rumors of iPhone 5 / 4GS and iPad 3 / iPad HD floating all over the internet.

Before this year, iPhones have always been refreshed in the Apple WWDC event  which is held in summer each year. This years’s WWDC was quite a smasher in which Apple revealed jaw dropping cloud computing a.k.a iCloud and updated both iOS and Mac OS X operating systems, announcing iOS 5 and Mac OS X Lion respectively. Even though there was no hint of iPhone 5 or whatever the next generation iPhone may be called, rumors of an iPhone refresh have been getting quite strong in the last few months. Many believe that the iPhone 5 will start selling by the end of September while others are suggesting it won’t come out until October. What actually happens, of course only time will tell.

We don’t know anything solid about the next generation iPods yet but there have been rumors surfacing from time to time in the previous few weeks. Like the next generation iPod touch may support 3G connectivity, come in storage capacity of 128GB & a touch sensitive home button and would be available in both black and white models. Rumors of an iPod nano with camera have also surfaced but nothing much to support that claim either.

Besides the next generation iPods and a rumored new iPhone, Apple is also expected to release iOS 5 and iCloud to the general public at the forthcoming media event.
